Garmin Cirqa worn on a wrist

After spending over two weeks with the Garmin Cirqa smart band, I can say that it faces tough competition in the screenless fitness tracker market from the likes of Whoop Strap and Fitbit Air. Both of which I have used extensively. The Cirqa aims to provide a distraction-free workout experience for users, similar to its competitors.

Leading up to its launch, there were various rumors about the Cirqa, including its price being five times higher than the Fitbit Air, which turned out to be untrue. However, even after attending the launch event, I was unsure about what the Cirqa had to offer. Now, after thorough testing, I have a better understanding of its features and how it stacks up against other fitness trackers in the market.

During my testing period, I have discovered three key aspects of the Garmin Cirqa…

Improved Automatic Tracking

Garmin watches have struggled with automatic workout tracking in the past, unlike competitors like the Apple Watch and Pixel Watch. The Garmin Cirqa, however, seems to have addressed this issue effectively.

Previously, my walks were not recorded by my Garmin Venu X1, but with the Cirqa, the Garmin Connect app now recognizes these walks, even those with inclines. This has been particularly useful on days when I can’t make it to the gym, as it helps me stay active throughout the day.

Comfortable Design

Despite its size, the Garmin Cirqa has been surprisingly comfortable to wear. While some may find it larger than the Fitbit Air, I personally find it similar to the Whoop Strap in terms of comfort. The L-XL strap size has worked well for me, and I have not experienced any discomfort wearing the Cirqa.

Convenient Button Feature

One standout feature of the Cirqa is its physical button, allowing users to start or stop workouts instantly. This sets it apart from competitors like the Fitbit Air. However, there is a caveat – to ensure accurate tracking, users need to select the workout type in the Garmin Connect app before starting the activity. This extra step may hinder the seamless experience users expect from the button functionality.

In conclusion, the Garmin Cirqa offers several impressive features, and I will provide a detailed review with a final score soon.
