In an interview with GeekWire, Clark emphasized that the move was driven by a desire for talent and family proximity, rather than tax considerations. The relocation to Texas aligns with the Clarks’ roots in the Southeast and their intention to return to Texas eventually.

Clark also highlighted the talent pool in Dallas, where supply chain specialists are as prevalent as software engineers in Seattle. Additionally, Texas’ central location offers strategic advantages for serving corporate clients nationwide.

Despite the move, Auger did not seek any state or local incentives as part of the relocation. Clark emphasized that taxes were not a deciding factor and praised Texas’ business-friendly environment.

Clark’s concerns about the business climate in Seattle were highlighted, referencing recent policies like the “millionaires tax” and statements from local officials that may not be conducive to business growth.

With Auger’s continued growth and expansion plans, the Bellevue office is expected to see a 20% to 30% increase in staff over the next few years. The company’s new headquarters in Dallas is strategically located and has already seen growth in sales and supply chain roles.
