LORILLION Secures Multi-Million Investment from SubSea Craft

LORILLION, an engineering and R&D company based in Coventry, specializing in bespoke electrification solutions and clean-energy technologies, has recently announced a significant investment from maritime technology company SubSea Craft, based in Portsmouth.

SubSea Craft has acquired a 40% equity interest in LORILLION with this multi-million-euro investment, aiming to enhance the UK’s sovereign capability in designing, industrializing, and manufacturing specialist battery systems for defense, marine, and automotive sectors.

CEO of LORILLION, Richie Frost, expressed excitement about the strategic partnership with SubSea Craft, emphasizing the acceleration of key battery technologies and a dedicated battery-pack manufacturing capability that will establish a crucial end-to-end sovereign capability within the UK.

The investment will enable LORILLION to expand its engineering team, advance proprietary technology, and provide customers with a complete route from initial battery concept to certified production, significantly boosting the UK’s capacity in developing advanced battery systems for various demanding applications.

Founded in 2023, LORILLION focuses on providing battery development services across defense, marine, aerospace, and automotive sectors, with expertise in rapid development of bespoke battery systems for highly regulated applications.

The company offers turnkey services covering concept development, product design, validation, certification, and production.

With the new capital injection, LORILLION plans to expand its engineering team, accelerate proprietary battery-management technology development, and establish a new production facility in the Midlands set to open next year.

SubSea Craft, established in 2014, is committed to empowering maritime and amphibious forces with operational advantages through accelerated research, development, and delivery of maritime technology.

LORILLION’s collaboration with SubSea Craft involves developing a bespoke pressure-tolerant battery system for the VICTA vessel, designed to operate at depths exceeding 50 meters, highlighting the strategic synergy between the two companies.
