Berlin-based Kazimi secures €2.2 million to help app developers protect and verify first-party data

Kazimi: Berlin-Based Mobile Cybersecurity Startup Raises €2.2 Million in Pre-Seed Funding

Kazimi, a mobile cybersecurity startup based in Berlin, has successfully closed a pre-Seed funding round of €2.2 million. The funding round was oversubscribed and led by Market One Capital, with participation from IBB Ventures and several notable figures in the mobile industry.

The round saw investments from ex-Rovio CTO Petri Hyökyranta, ex-Supercell data scientist Janne Peltola, and Erik Massmann, former CFO of the Birkenstock Group and Sportradar AG.

Andreas Naumann, co-founder and chief product officer of Kazimi, expressed the importance of the company’s advanced security solution in enabling app developers to protect their first-party data from bots and ensure its authenticity.

Founded in 2024 by August Joseph (CTO), Chase Gummer (CEO), Ville Mikkola (COO), and Andreas Naumann, Kazimi specializes in securing communication signals within mobile apps. Their technology allows developers to collect and verify first-party data, detect non-human bot activity, and differentiate between real and fake users.

Kazimi addresses the growing issue of bots surpassing human activity on the internet, particularly in the mobile space. The company’s solution utilizes cryptography and zero-knowledge proofs to maintain data accuracy, security, and compliance with privacy standards.

According to Erik Massmann, the ability to combat bot activity and ensure trust in mobile channels is crucial for industries utilizing AI and combating fraud.

With a focus on privacy and security, Kazimi aims to become a fundamental layer in the global app economy, providing secure and accurate first-party data while preserving user privacy.

The company’s client base includes mobile gaming studios, rewards platforms, and FinTech apps, with plans to expand into the global mobile ad spend market using the recent funding.
