The Betrayal Chronicles: Speculations on Season 2 Premiere and Star-Studded Cast
The debut episode of The Celebrity Traitors shattered BBC viewing records, attracting a staggering 11.7 million viewers, the highest for an unscripted episode in three years.
The show featured memorable moments such as Alan Carr’s excessive sweating, Celia Imrie’s farting and banshee cries, and the contestants’ overall incompetence.
With two episodes airing weekly, the current season is nearing its conclusion. While Series 4 of the regular edition is confirmed, the fate of The Celebrity Traitors remains uncertain.

Will The Celebrity Traitors come back for Season 2?
Although the BBC has not officially announced a second season of The Celebrity Traitors, Jonathan Ross, one of the main Traitors, hinted at its possibility. Ross mentioned on his podcast that he is aware of plans for another celebrity edition.
“I know they’re already planning a second celebrity version. I know because I’ve had two celebrity friends of mine call me and say ‘I’ve been approached – is it good to do, is it bad to do?’ So I’m giving them the benefit of my experience, which was that I didn’t enjoy it.”
Executive producer Sarah Fay also suggested the likelihood of a second season in an interview with Metro.
Given the show’s success and the ongoing applications for the main series, it’s highly probable that The Celebrity Traitors will return for another season.
Potential Air Date for The Celebrity Traitors Season 2
While the release date for Season 2 is unconfirmed, if it follows the pattern of previous seasons, we can expect it to air around autumn 2026.

Although the official cast list is yet to be revealed, executive producer Sarah Fay expressed interest in comedian Bob Mortimer joining the show. Other potential candidates include host Rylan Clark, comedian Kathy Burke, and Doctor Who showrunner Russell T Davies.
Some celebrities, such as Miriam Margolyes, Richard Osman, Martin Lewis, and Karren Brady, have declined offers to participate due to scheduling conflicts or personal reasons.
While there are no concrete rumors, it’s possible that Daisy May Cooper and Charlie Cooper might reconsider after pulling out last minute from the first season.
