Solace Care Raises €2.1 Million in Pre-Seed Round to Expand End-of-Life Platform
Solace Care, a Stockholm-based end-of-life platform, has successfully raised a pre-Seed round of €2.1 million. The funding will be used to expand its insurer and broker partnerships, enter the Netherlands and the UK markets, and grow its product and commercial teams.
The round was led by Spintop Ventures, with participation from Plug and Play, as well as several industry experts and investors. This includes Caroline Farberger, Fredrik Solberg, Emil Lagerstedt-Karlsson, Tomi Yli-Kyyny, Stefan Moritz, Further Than Capital, Mattias Miksche, Krim Talia, and Wave Ventures.
Valtteri Korkiakoski, CEO and co-founder of Solace Care, emphasized the importance of redefining personal insurance to provide ongoing support to families beyond just financial compensation.
According to EU-Startups coverage, Solace Care’s pre-Seed round comes at a time of increased investment in insurance technology and digitally delivered care in 2026.
The European market has seen significant investment in adjacent rounds, with companies like Festina Finance, mea Platform, Ominimo, and Oska Health receiving substantial funding to modernize insurance and care services.
In Sweden, pet InsurTech Lassie also secured a significant investment to expand its insurance model across Europe.
Partner at Spintop Ventures, Erik Wenngren, praised Solace Care for its innovative approach to life insurance and support for families before and after a loss.
Founded in 2025 by Valtteri Korkiakoski and Josef Karakoca, Solace Care is a digital platform for legacy planning and support after loss, catering to users in Sweden, Finland, and Norway.
The platform helps policyholders organize their affairs, provide instructions for their families, and offer guidance and support during challenging times.
Solace Care has experienced rapid growth, expanding its user base to over 25,000 covered lives in multiple Nordic countries.
The service is currently available in Swedish, Finnish, and Norwegian, with plans to scale into the Danish and Dutch markets in the near future.
The funding will be used to enhance enterprise sales capabilities, strengthen partnerships, and expand into new markets, including the Netherlands and the UK.
Valtteri Korkiakoski highlighted the importance of changing the way we think about death and insurance, aiming to revolutionize the end-of-life space in Europe.
