Introducing the Future of Smartwatches: Motorola Moto Watch Ultra
Motorola Watch Ultra: A Strong Contender in the Wear OS Space
Motorola is gearing up to make a significant impact with its latest offering, the Moto Watch Ultra. Despite its name, this smartwatch is not a direct competitor to the Galaxy Watch Ultra 2. Instead, it positions itself as a viable alternative to the Galaxy Watch 9 and the Pixel Watch 5 in the Wear OS market, especially with OnePlus no longer in the competition.
The Moto Watch Ultra’s use of Google’s platform marks a notable shift for Motorola, moving away from its previous proprietary software. However, the brand has maintained its focus on fitness tracking by partnering with Polar, a well-known name in the industry.
Polar’s expertise in fitness tracking sets the Moto Watch Ultra apart, offering users guidance on exercise routines and rest periods. This integration with Wear OS could give Motorola an edge over its competitors.
Noteworthy features of the Moto Watch Ultra include a Running Coach mode for beginners and seasoned runners alike, as well as a Serene mode that combines guided breathing exercises with mindfulness during workouts.
Available in a single 46mm stainless steel size, the Moto Watch Ultra is priced competitively at £369, making it an attractive option for those looking for a larger smartwatch. In comparison, the 45mm Pixel Watch 5 starts at £399 for the Wi-Fi-only model.
What Sets the Moto Watch Ultra Apart
The Moto Watch Ultra stands out as the first Motorola smartwatch to offer LTE connectivity. It also boasts features such as Google Pay, dual-band GPS, IP68 and 5ATM ratings, and Corning Gorilla Glass 3 protecting its 1.5-inch OLED screen, which delivers up to 2700 nits of brightness.
