The Future of Samsung: Introducing the S27 Edge

Samsung is rumored to be bringing back its ultra-slim handset concept with the upcoming S27 Edge model. This design was first introduced with the Galaxy S25 Edge but was skipped in the S26 lineup this year after facing multiple delays and cancellations.

According to reports, the S27 Edge is set to be even thinner than its predecessor, with a thickness in the “low 4mm range.” This would make it over 1mm slimmer than the 5.8mm S25 Edge, positioning it as a direct competitor to the iPhone Air.

The leaked information suggests that the S27 Edge will feature a 5.8-inch screen, significantly smaller than the S25 Edge’s 6.7-inch display. While it is expected to retain an AMOLED panel, it remains unclear if it will incorporate Samsung’s Privacy Display technology like the S26 Ultra.

Additionally, reports indicate that the S27 Edge will house a 4300mAh battery, slightly larger than the 3900mAh battery found in the S25 Edge. Given the thinner design and smaller form factor, Samsung may employ Silicon-Carbon battery technology to achieve this capacity.

Comparing the rumored specifications of the S27 Edge with the iPhone Air and its predecessor:

S27 Edge S25 Edge iPhone Air
Thickness Low 4mm range 5.8mm 5.6mm
Battery 4300mAh 3900mAh 3149mAh
Screen 5.8-inch 6.7-inch 6.5-inch

While these details provide insight into the upcoming S27 Edge, many questions remain unanswered, including the choice of processor (Qualcomm or Samsung’s Exynos), pricing, and the official release date.
