Bungie Delays Marathon Update to December 8th for Additional Polish

Bungie recently announced that the highly anticipated Marathon update, originally scheduled for release on September 22nd, will now be combined with the December 8th Symbiosis update. The decision to delay the release was made to allow the development team more time to refine the upcoming content.

The December 8th update will introduce several exciting features, including a new social space/firing range, an experimental team deathmatch mode, and improved player onboarding. Additionally, players can look forward to a new Runner shell, permanent PvE content, and changes to the Perimeter zone.

Prior to the December 8th update, a smaller update is scheduled for October 6th to refresh the Nightfall content. This refresh will reset progression and the game economy, introduce a new Rewards pass, and implement various improvements and balance changes. Vault Breaker will also be making a return.

In a significant shift, Bungie has announced that they will be moving away from a strict seasonal update schedule to a more flexible approach. This change will allow the development team greater freedom to build and test features before releasing them to the live game. More details on this new approach will be shared in a blog post later this month.
