Danish FashionTech Startup Rodinia Generation Raises €4 Million for Expansion

Rodinia Generation, a Danish FashionTech startup specializing in clothing production technology, has successfully raised €4 million to finance its industrial phase. The funding will support the establishment of the company’s first commercial-scale facility in Portugal, scheduled to be operational by 2027.

The funding round was led by Vitamin°C, with continued support from existing investors Climentum Capital and EIFO. This latest funding round follows a previous raise of €3 million in 2024, as reported by EU-Startups.

Founder and CEO of Rodinia Generation, Trine Young, emphasized the strategic importance of manufacturing closer to demand in today’s market. By producing garments with Rodinia Generation, brands can react to consumer demand in a matter of days, reducing the need for long production lead times and high volumes. This agile approach not only improves unit economics but also minimizes environmental impact.

With a focus on sustainability, Rodinia Generation’s financing aligns with the growing trend of European investments in technologies that address the environmental and manufacturing footprint of textiles and apparel.

In addition to Rodinia Generation, other companies in the fashion tech space have secured significant funding in 2026. This includes investments in sustainable pigment platforms, plant-based color technology, textile and nylon recycling, and more, totaling approximately €47.5 million.

Vitamin°C and Climentum Capital, the lead investors in Rodinia Generation, have also been actively involved in climate-focused funding initiatives, further highlighting the industry’s commitment to sustainability.

According to Nathalie Moral, Founding Partner at Vitamin°C, Rodinia Generation’s innovative approach to apparel production has the potential to revolutionize the economics of the industry by combining automation, flexibility, and local manufacturing at a commercial scale.

Established in 2017, Rodinia Generation operates out of Copenhagen, Denmark, and focuses on developing advanced garment production systems. The company’s O-Factory in Copenhagen has already demonstrated the viability of its technology, producing a wide range of clothing categories for leading fashion brands.

Rodinia Generation’s O-Factory is designed to address the evolving needs of the fashion industry, which increasingly requires flexibility, rapid product changes, and shorter production runs. By combining proprietary software and machinery with external production technologies, the O-Factory can adapt to changing production requirements seamlessly.

The company’s long-term vision includes creating a global network of O-Factories located near major fashion markets, offering flexible production capacity and reducing CO₂ emissions and water usage in the production process.

Through its innovative technology, Rodinia Generation aims to significantly reduce environmental impact in the apparel industry, with the potential to save billions of liters of water and millions of tonnes of CO₂ emissions annually compared to conventional production methods.
