Delta Transforms the iPhone Duo into the Ultimate Folding Handheld Device
The Delta Gaming Emulator: A Closer Look at the Delta 2.0 Update
The Delta gaming emulator has recently undergone a significant upgrade, introducing a variety of new features and support updates. One of the standout additions is the optimization for Apple’s iPhone Duo, offering users an enhanced gaming experience on this innovative device.
Delta 2.0 also brings Sega Genesis games to the emulator, along with animated controller skins, custom Pokémon DLC experiences, and a revamped user interface designed to support Liquid Glass technology.
The addition of support for the iPhone Duo is particularly noteworthy, allowing users to seamlessly emulate Nintendo DS games on Apple’s foldable flagship device. Riley Testut, the creator of the Delta app, highlighted that controller skins have been optimized for various poses in both portrait and landscape modes, enabling users to enjoy a versatile gaming experience. Furthermore, the emulator supports split-view multitasking and seamlessly integrates with other apps. Closing the Duo puts emulated DS games into sleep mode, mirroring the functionality of a real DS.
In addition to iPhone Duo support, Delta 2.0 introduces Sega Genesis games, complete with new controller skins that pay homage to the classic Genesis controller design. The update also includes custom Pokémon DLC experiences, offering unique in-game content for classic Pokémon games. This DLC, developed by the Pokémon ROM hacking community, enhances gameplay with event items, rare pokémon, and more, catering to fans of the beloved franchise.
Delta 2.0 also includes experimental features like support for Epilogue’s GB/SN Operator gadgets, enabling users to play old Nintendo cartridges on their Apple devices. Another experimental feature, Custom Filters, allows players to customize the appearance of their games with filter overlays, providing a nostalgic gaming experience reminiscent of classic gameplay.
The user interface of the Delta emulator has been revamped to align with Apple’s Liquid Glass design language, ensuring a seamless experience across various screen sizes. Animated controller skins, new library pages for “recents” and “favorites,” and additional settings options enhance the overall user experience.
Beyond gameplay enhancements, Delta now offers global support for in-app purchases, with a new “Become a Patron” option available. Additionally, Delta will now be accessible on the EU App Store, expanding its availability to a wider audience.
