Expression Games recently unveiled a sneak peek at the gameplay of their upcoming release, Hell Let Loose: Vietnam. This highly anticipated sequel is set to hit the gaming scene in 2026, promising an immersive multiplayer experience on a grand scale.
A Shift to Vietnam
Steering away from its World War II roots, Hell Let Loose: Vietnam transports players to the year 1973, delving into one of the most pivotal conflicts of the 20th century. In this iteration, two teams of 50 players each will engage in intense battles amidst the lush jungles, winding rivers, and towering trees of Vietnam. The game’s visuals aptly capture the cinematic representation of the war, although a bit more diversity in lighting could enhance the overall experience.
New Gameplay Elements
The sequel introduces exciting gameplay additions, such as aerial units including helicopters for troop transport, supply delivery, and air support. Patrol boats also make their debut, offering players the opportunity to navigate waterways, infiltrate enemy territory, and unleash strategic strikes. Additionally, players can utilize tunnels for covert underground movement, mirroring the strategic tactics employed by the North Vietnamese forces.
Release and Early Preview
Hell Let Loose: Vietnam is slated to launch on PC, PS5, and Xbox Series X|S next year. Gamers eager for a glimpse of the action can catch an early preview of the game showcased at Gamescom in August. Impressions from the event indicate that the game presents a compelling challenge for war gaming enthusiasts, offering a nuanced portrayal of a complex conflict.
