Swing into Action: Apple Sports Launches Golf Support
Apple’s Sports app has continuously evolved since its launch in early 2024, expanding to cover a wide range of sports. Recent discoveries hint at the potential addition of golf to the app, with hidden images of the men’s PGA Tour and women’s LPGA surfacing in the latest version. While Apple has not made an official announcement, the upcoming golf seasons starting in a few weeks suggest that an update may be on the horizon.
Apple Sports aims to provide a simple and fast sports tracking experience, free from ads and distractions. The app offers current and upcoming game information, league standings, and optional betting odds through DraftKings. The potential inclusion of the PGA Tour and LPGA would further enhance Apple’s extensive list of supported sports, which already includes major leagues like MLB, NBA, and NHL, among others.
Apple Sports has expanded its availability beyond the US, Canada, and the UK to include Mexico and 28 additional European countries. Language support for French, German, Italian, Spanish, Dutch, and Swedish has also been added. The app has seen numerous enhancements since its launch, such as Live Activities, Home Screen widgets, and graphical game cards that can be shared via Messages.
Users can download Apple Sports for free from the App Store, and it seamlessly syncs with Apple TV and Apple News for a streamlined sports experience. The app’s speed, simplicity, and continuous improvements make it a valuable tool for sports fans worldwide.
