There's a fresh demo for Nioh 3, with a week to go before launch

Nioh 3 Demo Released Ahead of Game Launch Next Week

Anticipation is high as Koei Tecmo and Team Ninja gear up for the release of Nioh 3 on February 6th. To whet fans’ appetites, a new demo has been unveiled, allowing players to delve into the early stages of the game on both PS5 and PC via Steam.

In this demo, players can create their own custom character and embark on a journey through the Warring States period, facing off against formidable foes like the Jakotsu-baba boss. What’s more, progress made in the demo can be carried over to the full game. While solo play is an option, the game also offers support for up to three players in online multiplayer mode.

For those who manage to conquer the demo by February 15th, a special reward awaits in the form of the Twin-Snake Helmet, an exclusive bonus for the full version of the game. This incentive is not available to those who have already obtained it through the PS5 alpha demo.

Nioh 3 puts players in the shoes of Tokugawa Takechiyo, who must reclaim his rightful place on the shogunate throne from his treacherous brother, Tokugawa Kunimatsu, and his army of demons.

One of the key features of the game is the ability to swiftly switch between two combat styles, seamlessly transitioning from Samurai to Ninja. This versatility comes in handy when facing off against the yokai in the expansive ‘open field’ setting, which offers a fresh and dynamic gameplay experience.

Last year, I had the opportunity to get hands-on with Nioh 3, testing out the new combat style shifting and open field mechanics. In my experience, I found the ability to switch between Samurai and Ninja styles to be immensely enjoyable. Fans of the series and the wider genre should definitely keep an eye out for the game’s launch in February 2026.
