One year on from Citizen Sleeper 2, I'm tempted back into its world with a physical release of its TTRPG spin-off

Exploring Citizen Sleeper’s Spindlejack: A Tabletop RPG Journey

Crafting a captivating world for exploration is a challenging task, especially when the setting is less than ideal. This challenge is further amplified when the world is predominantly built through words with minimal visual aids. Citizen Sleeper successfully navigates these obstacles, offering a world that combines grand sci-fi concepts with a grounded sense of reality commonly found in the cyberpunk genre. A year after the release of the second game, the allure of Citizen Sleeper’s universe remains strong, prompting a return to its origins as a tabletop game.

Citizen Sleeper: Spindlejack may not be a new game per se, having been released as a free-to-download mini-RPG last May. However, Lost in Cult is transforming it into a tangible, physical product that tabletop RPG enthusiasts can add to their collection. Set in a specific corner of Citizen Sleeper 2’s world known as the Far Spindle, Spindlejack immerses players in a solo TTRPG experience where they navigate the skies on airbikes, undertaking challenging deliveries for cryo, reputation, and enjoyment.

The physical release of Spindlejack introduces a set of 10 themed D6 dice, informative paper inserts, and stickers, enhancing the immersive experience. Additionally, the package includes two new modules to enrich gameplay. ‘Sprocket’s Shop’ offers new upgrades and items to enhance tactical gameplay, while ‘Kadet’s Climb’ presents a story-driven experience where players assume the role of Kadet, a character from the original video game, as she navigates the challenges of the Far Spindle.

While the allure of owning this luxurious tabletop RPG set is undeniable, the game remains accessible to all through itch.io for free. However, for those intrigued by the physical edition, a convenient link is provided for easy access.
