Bentley Motors Unveils Bentayga X Concept at FAT Ice Race

During the recent FAT Ice Race at Zell am See, Bentley Motors took the opportunity to introduce the world to its latest creation, the Bentayga X Concept. This off-roader has been specially designed to excel in challenging terrains, boasting enhanced off-road capabilities that set it apart from its predecessors. Powering the Bentayga X Concept is a robust 4.0-liter twin-turbo V8 engine, delivering impressive performance that is further enhanced by its permanent four-wheel drive system and eight-speed transmission.

The Bentayga X Concept has been meticulously engineered to excel in the FAT Ice Race environment. It features a rugged exterior, with the track width widened by at least five inches (120 mm) to enhance stability. Additionally, the ride height has been raised by over two inches (55 mm) to provide a foot of ground clearance and maximize suspension travel. Despite these modifications, the concept retains production car air suspension and anti-roll bars, hinting at the possibility of a future production model.

Ensuring optimal traction and stability are a set of forged 22-inch rims custom-made by Brixton, paired with large aspect ratio off-road tires. This combination, along with the increased suspension height, has boosted the Bentayga’s wading depth to an impressive 27 inches (550 mm).

Under the hood, the Bentayga X Concept houses a powerful 650 PS 4.0-liter twin-turbo V8 engine mated to an eight-speed manual transmission. The vehicle’s ride quality is further enhanced by the inclusion of air suspension, Bentley’s Dynamic Ride system, and a 48-volt electric active anti-roll system.

Additional features of the Bentley Bentayga X Concept include roof-mounted storage, four spotlights for prolonged off-road adventures, and an electric Bambino-sized go-kart housed on the roof. The vehicle’s height, combined with the roof additions, brings its total height to approximately 2.49 meters. At the rear, a titanium sports exhaust system by Akrapovic and twin towing eyes at the front complete the rugged yet refined look of this off-road marvel.
