Apple Maps Uncorks ‘Drops of God’ Wine Guide Partnership

Apple’s services ecosystem offers numerous opportunities for cross-promotion by tying together seemingly unrelated pieces. While the company often commemorates significant cultural events like Black History Month across various platforms, it’s the smaller events that showcase Apple’s whimsical side.

For instance, when Apple launched the fifth season of Slow Horses, a popular spy drama, it included a virtual tour of London in Apple Maps as a fan-oriented experience. Utilizing the Guides feature in iOS 14, the tour, titled “See London the Slow Horses Way,” guided users through real-world locations in London featured in the series, such as Slough House, Regent’s Canal Bench, and Blake’s Grave.

Now, Apple is continuing this trend for the season premiere of another original show by offering a tour of some of the world’s best wineries.

Drops of God is a drama starring Tomohisa Yamashita and Fleur Geffrier set in the world of fine wine competitions. Based on a Japanese manga series, the show’s first season premiered in the spring of 2023, receiving critical acclaim.

The second season, which debuted on January 21, delves into a new mystery surrounding the origin of the world’s greatest wine, bringing Camille and Issei together to solve it.

The search for truth takes Camille and Issei on a journey spanning continents and centuries, uncovering forgotten histories, hidden rivalries, and long-buried secrets. As they navigate through the unknown, they must confront their own limits and sacrifices.
