Microsoft Responds to Player Feedback by Lowering Xbox Game Pass Prices

In a recent development, Xbox CEO Asha Sharma acknowledged concerns raised by players regarding the affordability of Game Pass. As a response to this feedback, Microsoft has decided to reduce the prices of both Xbox Game Pass Ultimate and PC Game Pass.

Effective immediately, Xbox Game Pass Ultimate will now be available for $22.99 per month, down from the previous price of $29.99. Similarly, PC Game Pass subscribers will see a price drop to $13.99 per month, compared to the earlier $16.49.

This price adjustment comes alongside the announcement that future Call of Duty titles will no longer be included in Game Pass Ultimate or PC Game Pass at launch. Instead, these titles will be added to the subscription services during the following holiday season, approximately a year after their release.

Despite these changes, the overall Game Pass lineup remains unaffected, retaining its offerings after the price hike in October. Game Pass Ultimate, Premium, and Essential will all still include access to Xbox Cloud Gaming.

Microsoft’s decision to lower the prices reflects a commitment to listening to player feedback and adapting to meet their diverse needs. While the addition of Call of Duty to Game Pass was initially met with excitement, the subsequent removal of new entries from the service indicates a need for ongoing evaluation of subscription content.

Looking back, Microsoft’s deliberation on including Call of Duty in Game Pass raised concerns within the company about potential revenue impacts. The recent changes demonstrate a willingness to learn from past decisions and prioritize player satisfaction.
