The Instax Mini Link+: A Detailed Review
The Instax Mini Link+ is the latest addition to the Mini Link range, offering enhanced features compared to its predecessor, the Mini Link 3. With sharper prints, a redesigned body, and an improved companion app, this printer is set to impress. But is it worth the price tag of £130/$169, especially when factoring in the cost of Instax Mini Instant Film? Let’s delve into the details to find out.
After spending weeks printing out my favorite digital photos, I have gathered valuable insights into the performance and capabilities of the Instax Mini Link+.
Design & Build
The design of the Mini Link+ sets it apart from its predecessors, featuring a more angular and boxier form factor. While predominantly black, the printer incorporates ridged edges and orange accents on the print output, charging port, and control buttons, adding a touch of visual interest. The plastic finish, although not premium, strikes a balance between durability and aesthetics. Measuring at 86.7 x 33.4 x 128mm and weighing 240g without film, the Mini Link+ is compact and lightweight, fitting comfortably in hand or pocket. However, its sharp angles may hinder easy pocket insertion compared to competitors like the Polaroid HiPrint 2×3 Generation 2.

The Mini Link+ features strap loops on the body, with Fujifilm including a wrist strap in the box. However, attaching the wrist strap may prove challenging, as the method is not immediately intuitive. Despite this, once attached, the wrist strap offers convenience during printing sessions. Loading film into the Mini Link+ is a straightforward process, thanks to the hinged door on the back that reveals the cartridge bay. Aligning the yellow markers on the cartridge and printer, closing the door, and letting the protective sheet automatically eject ensures a hassle-free film loading experience.
