The Honor Magic V6 foldable device has been making waves online, with leaked images and videos suggesting it could be a strong competitor to the Samsung Galaxy Z Fold 8. Recently, a Reddit user shared an unboxing and hands-on video of the Chinese model of the Honor Magic V6, hinting at its imminent launch in direct competition with the Samsung Galaxy Z Fold 8 on 1 March.

The device appears to feature a sleek book-style design with a striking red suede-like finish that transitions to a lighter shade at different angles. It also boasts a shiny gold-tinged rim, reminiscent of its predecessor, the Honor Magic V5, known for its advanced features upon release.

Images released by Honor showcase the red model of the Honor Magic V6, with no prominent display crease visible. The device’s size and weight seem to be similar to the previous model, the Magic V5, which was praised for its slim and lightweight build compared to competitors like the Samsung Galaxy Z Fold 7.

Rumors suggest that the Honor Magic V6 will be equipped with a Snapdragon 8 Elite Gen 5 processor, a 200MP camera, and a massive 7000mAh battery or higher. The device is touted to feature a durable ‘2800MPa Super Steel Hinge’ and will receive an IP68/69 rating, along with cutting-edge display technology for enhanced protection.

Honor has teased the phone’s durability by showcasing a stunt involving Joe Weller’s weight being supported by the V6’s hinge for a zip line. Additionally, the phone will offer an “industry-leading 1.5% reflection rate, high wear resistance, and a reinforced inner screen” for advanced display protection.

The Honor Magic V6 is set to be officially unveiled at Mobile World Congress (MWC) this upcoming Sunday, promising an exciting debut in the foldable smartphone market.
