MINI Launches 1965 Victory Edition to Honor Monte Carlo Rally Win

MINI has unveiled the 1965 Victory Edition, a tribute to the iconic victory of Timo Mäkinen and Paul Easter at the 1965 Monte Carlo Rally. This special edition pays homage to the Mini Cooper S’s historic win, featuring the car’s race number 52 and Chili Red livery.

Three Variants Offered

The 1965 Victory Edition is available in three variants: the MINI Cooper S, MINI John Cooper Works, and MINI John Cooper Works Electric. Each variant offers different powertrains without compromising the rally-inspired character of the vehicle.

  • The Cooper S boasts a 2.0-litre TwinPower Turbo four-cylinder engine producing 204 hp, accelerating from 0 to 100 km/h in 6.6 seconds.
  • The John Cooper Works model pumps out 231 hp, reaching 100 km/h in 6.1 seconds.
  • The JCW Electric version leads the range with 258 hp and a 0-100 km/h time of 5.9 seconds.

Exterior Design Highlights

The 1965 Victory Edition features a striking Chili Red exterior with white trim stripes, reminiscent of 1960s competition liveries. The car bears the number “52” on its flanks, paying tribute to Mäkinen’s original vehicle. The C-pillar displays a “1965” decal for added period authenticity.

The roof is available in panoramic glass or Glazed finish, while the car rides on 18-inch alloy wheels with unique designs for each variant.

Interior Enhancements

Inside, the 1965 Victory Edition showcases a rally-inspired theme with subtle updates. The cabin features “1965” lettering on door sills, a color palette of anthracite and red, and special touches like the embossed race number on the key cap.

The MINI 1965 Victory Edition will be available globally from March 2026, with European availability starting in July 2026.
