In summary:
- Tech Advisor reports the Oppo Find X9 Ultra is expected to launch April 20th with a groundbreaking 50Mp telephoto camera featuring 10x optical zoom.
- The integrated Hasselblad telephoto lens aims to surpass previous zoom phones by delivering superior detail and authentic color reproduction for distant scenes.

The Oppo Find X9 Ultra is set to introduce a remarkable telephoto camera, continuing the legacy of the Samsung Galaxy S23 Ultra from three years ago.
Pete Lau, Oppo’s Chief Product Officer (and OnePlus co-founder), has shared detailed insights about the Oppo Find X9 Ultra camera’s unique zoom capabilities in a recent post. It has been revealed that the device will boast a 50Mp telephoto camera with a 10x optical zoom feature, eliminating the need for an external teleconverter.
“We are integrating the high-quality 10× lens, previously only possible externally, directly into the phone,” Lau stated in the post.
This innovative camera will be known as the Hasselblad 10× Optical Telephoto Lens, showcasing Oppo’s strong collaboration with the renowned Swedish camera specialist.
Oppo
We have previously witnessed phones with telephoto cameras offering a 10x optical zoom, such as the Samsung Galaxy S21 Ultra in 2021, which was succeeded by the Galaxy S22 Ultra and Galaxy S23 Ultra. However, these devices featured a modest 10Mp sensor. Lau’s announcement suggests a telephoto camera with a significantly higher optical zoom capability without compromising on image detail.
“Our 10× zoom is not simply about reaching further or the novelty of magnification,” Lau elaborated. “It is about authentically reproducing distant scenes.”
Therefore, capturing distant subjects is expected to unveil “real details, colors, and expressions.”

According to tipster Yogesh Brar, the Oppo Find X9 Ultra is slated for launch on April 20, with a simultaneous release in China and “select Global markets.” Handset sales are set to begin in the first week of May, with an India launch planned for a later date.
The previous Oppo Find X8 Ultra did not see a release in the UK, but this time around, we hope for a wider reach in those “select global markets.” While a European launch is confirmed, the UK release is still pending.
