Porsche Unveils the 911 GT3 S/C Convertible: A Closer Look

Porsche has finally taken the wraps off the much-awaited GT3 convertible – the 911 GT3 S/C, also known as the Sport Cabriolet.

The highlight of this new model is its folding fabric roof, which can be operated at speeds of up to 31 mph, taking just 12 seconds to open or close. Visually, the GT3 S/C bears a striking resemblance to its coupe counterpart, featuring a sporty front bumper and a bonnet with distinctive nostrils.

The car boasts a similar aerodynamic package, with the only major difference being the presence of a retractable spoiler at the rear, replacing the traditional wing. Porsche has utilized lightweight materials such as carbon fiber reinforced plastic panels and magnesium to keep the car as nimble as possible.

Under the hood, the 911 GT3 S/C is powered by the same 4.0-liter flat-six engine found in the coupe variant. This engine churns out an impressive 502 horsepower and 331 lb-ft of torque, mated exclusively to a manual gearbox.
