Apple has officially announced that the beloved series “Ted Lasso” will be returning on August 5, confirming rumors that have been circulating for some time. The announcement clears up many uncertainties, revealing which characters will be returning and introducing new actors joining the cast. The main cast members returning include Jason Sudeikis as Ted Lasso, Hannah Waddingham as Rebecca Welton, Juno Temple as Keely Jones, Brett Goldstein as Roy Kent, Brendan Hunt as Coach Beard, and Jeremy Swift as Leslie Higgins.

Unfortunately, there is no mention of Phil Dunster, who played Jamie Tartt in the first three seasons. While industry insiders suggest that Dunster may not be returning due to other commitments, fans are hopeful for a surprise appearance. Additionally, there is no information on whether other former AFC Richmond team members will make an appearance, with Nick Mohammed, who plays Nate Shelley, notably absent from the announcement.

Season 4 will see several new cast additions, including Tanya Reynolds, Jude Mack, Faye Marsay, Rex Hayes, Aisling Sharkey, Abbie Hern, and Grant Feely, known for his portrayal of a young Luke Skywalker in “Obi-Wan Kenobi.” Grant Feely will be taking on the role of Ted’s son Henry, who is expected to have a more prominent role in the new season. Tanya Reynolds, known for her roles in “Delicious,” “Sex Education,” and “The Decameron,” may be taking on a leading role in the new season, possibly as the new “Nate.”

The new season will focus on Ted returning to coach a women’s football team in the second division, with the team learning to take chances they never thought they would. While it was previously reported that Apple and Warner Bros. have planned another three-season arc, the release only confirms a new overall deal for the show. Jack Burditt, known for creating “Last Man Standing” and working on shows like “Frasier” and “30 Rock,” will join as a new executive producer.
