Lovable Backs Danish Startup Atech in Revolutionizing Hardware Creation with “Vibe Coding”

Lovable, the AI-powered app-building platform, has recently invested in Danish hardware startup Atech, which is pioneering the concept of “vibe coding” in the hardware creation process. Atech secured funding in an $800,000 pre-seed round that included prominent investors such as a16z’s scout fund, Sequoia Scout Fund, and Nordic Makers.

In an exclusive interview with TechCrunch, Gustav Hugod, Atech’s head of customer experience, shared insights into the user-friendly nature of the platform. Customers can purchase a starter hardware kit tailored to their project from Atech’s website. By engaging with an AI chatbot on the site, users can describe their hardware concepts, prompting the AI tool to generate code that facilitates the development of a functional prototype. Hugod highlighted the diverse user base of Atech, ranging from young children creating toy cars to industrial projects like a hydrogen synthesis plant requiring precise voltage sensing capabilities.

Traditionally, constructing hardware prototypes demanded extensive expertise or costly engineering resources. However, Hugod emphasized that as software accessibility has expanded, the barriers to hardware development are also diminishing. He stressed the importance of democratizing hardware accessibility, making it available to a wider audience. The recent funding injection will be channeled towards advancing research and development efforts, enhancing marketing strategies, and expanding the team through new hires.
