Exciting New Update Coming to Gran Turismo 7
Recently, Polyphony Digital unveiled a teaser trailer for the upcoming Gran Turismo 7 update during the Gran Turismo World Series 2026 Rd.1 – Milan event. The update is set to launch on 11th June and will introduce four modern Le Mans and World Endurance Championship cars, along with the addition of the safety car.
For fans of the iconic 24 Hours of Le Mans, this update couldn’t have come at a better time, as the race is scheduled for 13th-14th June. The opportunity to race these new cars around Circuit de la Sarthe is sure to excite players.
The four prototypes included in the update are the BMW M Hybrid V8, Ferrari 499P, Peugeot 9X8, and Porsche 963, along with the Porsche 911 Turbo S safety car.
This update marks a significant moment for Gran Turismo, as it introduces a diverse range of contemporary cars from the top tier of the World Endurance Championship. While it’s a step in the right direction, some notable absences from the current WEC lineup, such as cars from Aston Martin, Alpine, Cadillac, and Genesis, are missing. Additionally, the inclusion of the Porsche 963, which is no longer in competition, highlights the evolving nature of the sport.
Despite these limitations, the free update demonstrates Polyphony’s commitment to providing players with new and exciting content. Gran Turismo 7 continues to stand out as a comprehensive racing game, offering a wide selection of classic Le Mans cars alongside these modern additions. This diversity sets it apart from other racing titles and keeps players engaged with each new update.
As the gaming landscape evolves, with official licensed games like Le Mans Ultimate gaining popularity, Gran Turismo 7 remains a staple in the racing genre. The dedication to delivering significant car lineups through free updates showcases Polyphony’s ongoing support for the game and its community. With a rich history of classic Le Mans competitors and winners, Gran Turismo 7 offers a unique gaming experience that appeals to both simulation enthusiasts and racing fans alike.
