The One-of-a-Kind CLK GTR in Rare Factory Color
The Unique Rarity of the Dark Blue Mercedes CLK GTR
One of the most exclusive and rare machines in the automotive world is the Mercedes CLK GTR. However, there exists an even rarer model, distinguished by the color it proudly wears. This particular vehicle is the only factory dark blue CLK GTR ever produced.
During the late 1990s, Mercedes dominated the FIA GT racing scene, leading to the creation of just 26 road-going CLK GTRs. These vehicles were a direct result of homologation rules that required manufacturers to produce road-legal versions of their race cars. The CLK GTR was a prime example of this, being a barely tamed race machine that sported license plates. Among these 26 vehicles, only one was finished in dark blue, making it a truly unique one-of-a-kind model.
Beneath the lengthy hood of the CLK GTR lies a formidable 6.9-liter naturally aspirated V12 engine, delivering an impressive output of around 604 horsepower and 539 lb-ft of torque. Power is efficiently transferred to the rear wheels through a six-speed sequential manual gearbox. With a blistering 0-62 mph acceleration time of approximately 3.8 seconds and a top speed surpassing 199 mph, the performance figures of this vehicle continue to command respect even today.

However, the true essence of the CLK GTR lies beyond mere statistics. This vehicle is all about the visceral experience it offers. The interior is minimalistic, visibility is limited, and comfort takes a back seat in favor of raw performance. The CLK GTR is essentially a race car that has been adapted for road use, emphasizing its extreme nature. The dark blue variant of this model stands out in a world where modern hypercars prioritize usability, remaining a symbol of pure performance and exclusivity.
