Night Marsh Madness: The Terrifying Twist in Marathon’s Season 2 Trailer
Bungie has unveiled a captivating cinematic trailer for Marathon Season 2, showcasing the eerie ambiance of the upcoming Night Marsh map and the introduction of a new Runner shell Sentinel, among other exciting features. Scheduled to launch on June 2nd, Marathon Season 2, titled Nightfall, promises a host of new content for players to enjoy.
The trailer synopsis succinctly outlines the key highlights of Season 2: “With a fresh map in Night Marsh, a new Runner shell Sentinel, the Cradle, new weapons, progression enhancements, and more.”
Prior to the commencement of Season 2, the Bungie team has diligently addressed lingering issues from Season 1 to ensure a seamless transition. The recently deployed Update 1.0.9.1 introduces the following patch notes:

Marathon has now taken center stage for Bungie’s future endeavors, following the announcement that the upcoming update for Destiny 2 will be its final one. Reports suggest that there are no immediate plans for a major new project like Destiny 3, prompting the reallocation of resources to the Marathon team. This strategic shift has raised concerns about potential layoffs within the company.
This heightened focus on Marathon underscores the imperative to bolster its growth and success. While the game has carved a niche for itself, it has yet to meet the sales projections set by Bungie and Sony.
Despite the challenges, Marathon has received positive feedback. In our Marathon review, Jim remarked, “Exuding style and bolstered by Bungie’s signature smooth gunplay, Marathon has established a loyal following in the competitive realm of extraction shooters. While demanding, the risk-reward gameplay loop offers endless thrills for some players. Casual FPS enthusiasts seeking guaranteed progression may find themselves outside their comfort zone. The longevity of Marathon hinges on continued post-launch support and the introduction of engaging new content. The intricate and puzzle-packed Cryo Archive hints at a promising future with a diverse array of gameplay experiences.”
