Skybound Adventures: Early Access Launch Trailer Shows Off Flying Islands, Cloud Cruisers, and Sky Taxis

Exploring the World of Sky Islands in Atmosfar

Remember when open worlds comprised of floating islands were all the rage? Games like The Legend of Zelda: Tears of the Kingdom and Bossa’s ill-fated MMO Worlds Adrift come to mind. Despite their initial popularity, recent titles like Lost Skies, Everwind, and Aloft have struggled to make a mark in the gaming world. However, developers continue to explore the concept, with the upcoming release of Atmosfar on October 29th.

In Atmosfar, players embark on a mission to uncover the fate of humanity’s final outpost on an alien planet. The game features two main types of airships: the versatile Wasp and the expansive Cloud Cruiser. The Wasp comes in three variations – Utility, Cargo, and Striker – each serving a unique purpose. On the other hand, the Cloud Cruiser acts as a mobile airbase, complete with landing pads, a hangar, and space for cooperative gameplay.

While the focus is on air travel, the islands themselves are a sight to behold. With rounded mountains, lush forests, and rocky terrain, the sky islands in Atmosfar offer a picturesque backdrop for exploration. Players can expect a visually stunning experience as they navigate the floating landscapes.

During its early access phase, Atmosfar will feature two regions, with plans to expand further based on player feedback. Developer Apog, known for the tycoon management game Airport CEO, aims to introduce additional content such as a new Wasp breed, building options for Cloud Cruisers, and a third region in the future.
