Revolutionizing Technology: iOS 27’s Siri AI Overhaul and More

Apple’s Worldwide Developers Conference is almost here, and like every year, we’re expecting Apple to prepare us for what’s to come near the end of 2026. While this year’s event might not be as big as last year’s, it’s still shaping up to be important for Siri and Apple Intelligence as a whole.

As you probably know, WWDC is where Apple shows the next major versions of its software. This year that will be iOS 27, macOS 27, watchOS 27, and more. It’s also where developers get a closer look at new tools, frameworks, and features they’ll be able to use later in the year.

However, the biggest focus this time around will almost certainly be on Apple Intelligence and Siri. After a slow start with AI, Apple is expected to use WWDC26 to show how it plans to make the iPhone, Mac, Apple Watch, and even the Vision Pro feel smarter.

Siri Could Finally Get the Big Upgrade We’ve Been Waiting For

The biggest rumored change is Siri. Apple’s assistant has fallen way behind tools like ChatGPT, Google Gemini, and Claude, so WWDC may be Apple’s chance to show a much smarter version — as long as the company can deliver this time, that is.

Reports suggest that Apple is working on a redesigned Siri that works more like a chatbot. Instead of only asking quick questions or setting timers, you may be able to have longer conversations, ask follow-up questions, search past chats, and get more detailed answers. Think of the ChatGPT app, but exclusive to Apple devices.

If this is true, Siri might finally become an intelligent AI tool and virtual assistant, which would be the huge upgrade we’ve all been waiting for since even before the rise of AI.

Apple is also rumored to be testing a dedicated Siri app, which could make the assistant feel more like a real AI tool instead of something that only appears at the top of your screen from time to time.

Of course, we’ve been hearing about a new and more powerful Siri for years, and Apple has clearly struggled to deliver on this promise. So until we have an actual, testable new Siri, it’s best to keep your expectations to a minimum.

New AI Features Might Also Be in the Works

To no one’s surprise, it’s expected that Apple’s AI will also bring new features to the table. While we don’t know exactly what all of these features are going to be just yet, rumors say we will see some cool new things.

For starters, rumors say that AI features will be available on more first-party apps. One big example will reportedly be the integration of Siri in the Camera app. This will let you quickly access Apple’s visual intelligence to ask quick questions about anything you point your camera at.

Additionally, we’re expecting to see new AI tools in the Photos app. This is something other companies like Google and Samsung have offered for years, so it makes sense for Apple to focus on tools to make it easier to edit our pictures with the help of Apple Intelligence.

There are also rumors that the Wallet app will get a new scan feature that saves all your boarding passes digitally, too.

iOS 27 Will Be the Main Event

iOS 27 will probably get the most attention because the iPhone is still Apple’s most important product. Based on current rumors, this update may focus heavily on Siri, Apple Intelligence, and performance, as we mentioned before.

We could also see new features across many apps, including improvements to Apple Maps, changes to Photos and Camera, and more AI-powered options inside Apple’s first-party apps.

The biggest news is that some reports also suggest iOS 27 may include some reworks and refinements for the heavily rumored “iPhone Fold,” which should come out near the end of the year. Still, don’t expect Apple to give too much away there.

The final version of iOS 27 won’t arrive until later this year, but WWDC should give us the first official look. Developers will get the first beta shortly after the keynote, with a public beta likely following a few weeks later.

macOS 27, watchOS 27, and visionOS 27 Will Also Be Present

Apple will also show the next version of macOS. This may not be as flashy as iOS 27, but the Mac could benefit a lot from a smarter Siri and more Apple Intelligence tools, as that’s where the real work gets done. If Siri becomes a real chatbot-style assistant, the Mac may be one of the best places to use it.

watchOS 27 is still a bit of a mystery, as we don’t know if the company will show any new and big features. We’ll surely see some new watch faces, but we’ll have to wait for all the new features or design changes from Apple until the presentation next week.

We’ll also see visionOS 27. Remember the Apple Vision Pro? Neither do any of us, but Apple will surely update the software for its spatial computing headset. Apple is still building the future of Vision Pro, so this update will probably focus on better apps, better multitasking, and improved ways to experience all your media. Hopefully, this will give the really expensive headset some solid reasons to buy it.

Will Apple Announce New Hardware This Year?

There have been times in the past when Apple surprised us and showcased a brand new product, but that doesn’t seem very likely this year.

After all, WWDC is mostly a software event, so a new device announcement will probably not happen. Looking at the bright side, it seems we will get a cool new product this year; we’ll just have to wait a little longer.

Apple is rumored to be working on a foldable iPhone, and iOS 27 may include early software support for it.
