Ferrari Dismisses Claims of Pressuring VIP Customers to Buy Electric Car

Ferrari has vehemently denied allegations that it is coercing VIP clients into purchasing its first electric vehicle, the Luce. Speculation arose following the recent launch of the Ferrari Luce, insinuating that loyal customers were being pressured to buy the electric car to secure access to future exclusive models.

The company’s Chief Marketing Officer, Enrico Galliera, has refuted these rumors, deeming them entirely false. Galliera emphasized that such tactics would contradict Ferrari’s brand principles. He explained that compelling customers to buy a $636,000 (€550,000) electric vehicle they aren’t genuinely interested in would only lead to dissatisfaction and jeopardize long-term brand loyalty.

In addition to brand considerations, there are also business implications to consider. Unhappy buyers might quickly sell their cars in the secondary market, potentially affecting residual values.

Contrary to the alleged pressure tactics, the Ferrari Luce seems to be attracting buyers based on its own merits. Initial demand indicates a balanced mix of traditional Ferrari collectors and new customers intrigued by the electric vehicle.

Reports suggest that interest in the Luce is already growing in Thailand, well before the anticipated deliveries in late 2027.
