Tomo: Endless Blue Coming to Nintendo Switch 2

Indie developer Onibi, following a successful Kickstarter campaign, has announced that their anime-themed creature-collecting action RPG, Tomo: Endless Blue, will be available on Nintendo Switch 2 in addition to the previously announced Windows PC (Steam) version in 2026.

The game has almost doubled its funding goal on Kickstarter, with plans for Mac and Linux versions as well as DRM-free options.

Benjamin Devienne, Founder and CEO of Onibi, stated, “Tomo is about setting sail to find rare creatures, bringing them home, and building a world around them. That fantasy feels very natural on Nintendo hardware, and we wanted to celebrate the final days of the Kickstarter by confirming that bringing Tomo to Switch 2 is part of our plan.”

Here’s an overview of the game and a new trailer:

Embark on a journey through the Endless Blue, an ocean realm inhabited by mysterious creatures known as the Tomo. Join forces with your companions to battle or simply enjoy daily life. Construct vehicles and contraptions to explore procedurally generated islands and villages, and encounter unique characters!

As players explore procedurally generated islands, they will uncover vibrant villages filled with characters and Tomo, each island and village representing a microcosm of a distinct civilization.

Players can choose to fight alongside Tomo companions, build intricate vehicles and contraptions, or live a peaceful life with friends in the world of the Endless Blue.

Key Features:

  • Befriend the Tomo: Each Tomo has unique powers that players can utilize in battles and day-to-day tasks such as building, farming, crafting, and cooking.
  • Procedurally Generated Worlds: Combining handcrafted content with procedural generation, the game offers diverse islands with challenges like battles against Tomo Champions and the search for mythical Tomo.
  • Voxel Physics: Real-world physics govern the construction of vehicles and contraptions, allowing players to build machines block by block.
  • Terrain-based Combat: Players can strategically use the surrounding terrain to gain an advantage in battles, switching between their own perspective and their Tomo companion’s.
  • Multiplayer Options: The game supports offline single-player, local multiplayer, and online server play with no player limit.
