Mastering CarPlay: Top Tips and Tricks for Ultimate Connectivity
CarPlay is essential for most people, offering a superior in-car experience compared to many carmakers’ infotainment systems. It provides quick access to favorite apps, seamless integration with Siri, and more.
Here are some of the best tips and tricks to enhance your CarPlay experience:
Customize your CarPlay apps and Home Screen

Many of your favorite apps are available on CarPlay, but you may not want all of them on your Home Screen. You can easily adjust this by following these steps:
- Open the Settings app on your iPhone
- Tap “General”
- Tap “CarPlay”
- Tap your car’s name and choose “Customize”
Here, you can see a list of all CarPlay apps on your phone. You can hide apps from appearing on CarPlay by tapping on the red minus sign. Additionally, you can rearrange your CarPlay Home Screen by dragging apps into your desired order.
CarPlay wallpapers

Although you can’t use any photo as your CarPlay wallpaper, Apple provides a selection of pre-installed options. Follow these steps to set your desired wallpaper:
- Open the Settings app on CarPlay
- Select “Wallpaper”
- Choose your desired wallpaper and tap “Set”
Apple periodically adds new wallpaper options to CarPlay, but the choices are limited.
