For those not drawn to foldable smartphones, the Pro Fold may not be on your radar. Surprisingly, the base Pixel 11 model is the one that catches my eye the most.

Here are three compelling reasons why I consider it to be the standout choice.

Before the Pixel 11 series was officially revealed, there was much anticipation surrounding the rumored ‘Pixel Glow’ lights on the rear. The idea of customizable LED lights encircling the camera module, as envisioned by Gemini, sparked excitement.

However, the reality fell short of expectations. Contrary to the speculated ‘Pixel Glow’, the feature is named ‘HiLight’, which seems lackluster for what it offers. It resembles a less impressive version of the ‘Glyph’ lights seen on Nothing smartphones, generating different light patterns based on incoming calls or various interactions involving Gemini.

As of now, the functionality of HiLight is limited, with Google promising future enhancements over time. Yet, upon its initial release, it feels incomplete and lacking in potential.
