Exciting news for BMW enthusiasts as three new models join the X5 G65 lineup, available for order starting October 8.

Introducing the 50e, M60e, and iX5, expanding the range alongside the existing 40 and 40d, all equipped with standard all-wheel drive.

Anticipate the arrival of another M Performance variant, featuring a potent V8 engine, scheduled for release in 2027.

BMW has always impressed with its prompt configurator launch post-reveal, and the X5 G65 is no exception. Currently offering the 40 xDrive and 40d xDrive models, the lineup is set to expand soon.

From October 8, European customers can configure and order the two plug-in hybrid X5 variants. The 50e xDrive and the high-performance M60e xDrive will be the initial offerings, both starting at six figures before customization. Prices are estimated at around €102,800 for the 50e xDrive and €125,000 for the M Performance version.

Adding to the excitement is the introduction of the fully electric iX5 60 xDrive, expected to have a similar price tag to the plug-in hybrid M Performance model. While details on a lower-priced iX5 50 xDrive are yet to be revealed, future variations are not ruled out.

2027 BMW X5: A New Chapter for the Iconic Model

Production of the fifth-generation X5 has commenced at the Spartanburg plant in South Carolina. Initially, the inline-six models will be delivered in Europe starting November 28, followed by the plug-in hybrids and EV in December, with customer deliveries set for March 6 next year.

Excitingly, a second M Performance model, the X5 M60 xDrive, is in the works, featuring a powerful V8 engine. This model will cater to enthusiasts seeking performance and luxury, with the upcoming X5 M (G95) expected to follow suit with a twin-turbo 4.4-liter engine delivering over 600 horsepower.

Notably, the flagship X5 variant will receive an electric iteration, potentially the most potent X5 M model ever produced. Rumors suggest it may boast four electric motors generating between 800 and 900 hp, promising unparalleled performance. All G65 variants will share the CLAR platform.

While Europe will not receive the X5 40 version, the base rear-wheel-drive model will remain available in the United States, offering a more affordable option at $71,250. This model stands out as one of the few rear-wheel-drive SUVs with a combustion engine in BMW’s lineup, catering to a specific market segment.
