$20 million McLaren F1 LM spotted on the streets of London

Supercar Season in London: McLaren F1 LM Spotted

Summertime in the UK signals the return of supercars to the streets of London. The city is currently buzzing with the presence of fast and luxurious vehicles as the supercar season kicks into high gear.

Among the impressive sightings is a rare McLaren F1 LM, a true gem even by London’s standards. With only five F1 LM models ever built by McLaren, and just two standard F1s later modified to LM specifications, spotting one on the streets is a remarkable occurrence. The Papaya Orange McLaren F1 LM recently spotted is identified as chassis #2.

The McLaren F1 LM differs from the standard F1 with its ‘High Downforce package’, which includes a fixed rear wing, revised front air dam, and fender louvres. Additionally, it is equipped with 5-spoke centre-locking wheels, adding to its aerodynamic design.

Notably, LM-spec cars are powered by a modified 6.1-litre V12 naturally aspirated engine. With no restrictors in place, the engine delivers an impressive 671 horsepower and 520 lb-ft of torque, enhancing the car’s performance on the road.

At an RM Sotheby’s auction in 2019, a McLaren F1 modified to LM-spec was sold for nearly $20 million, highlighting the exclusivity and value of these exceptional vehicles.
