Revolutionizing AI-Powered Supply Chain Machining with CloudNC
CloudNC, a leader in AI precision machining technology, has recently raised $20 million in new funding to expand its operations within global supply chain networks.
Nimble Ventures, a US-based venture investor, spearheaded the investment round, joined by Calculus Venture Capital, Entrepreneur First, and LM Ventures, the venture capital arm of Lockheed Martin.
Established in 2015, CloudNC is headquartered in London with an active production facility in Chelmsford. The company has previously received support from Atomico and Episode 1 Ventures, in addition to forming strategic alliances with Autodesk and Lockheed Martin.
CloudNC’s primary software product, CAM Assist, is designed to automate CNC programming, streamlining the generation of machining strategies and toolpaths from computer-aided manufacturing models to enhance production efficiency.
Automating CNC Programming for Enhanced Supplier Networks
By reducing the transition time between technical design and factory production, CAM Assist enables machinists to boost physical component output.
CloudNC has successfully deployed CAM Assist in over 1,000 machine shops globally, including a substantial presence in the US. Noteworthy users include Lockheed Martin and Major Tool and Machine.
Theo Saville, CEO and co-founder of CloudNC, expressed that the software addresses the industry’s need for faster quoting and programming, maximizing existing resources.
John Burbank, the founder of Nimble Ventures, emphasized that automated CNC workflows will facilitate significant onshoring of manufacturing activities and global production in precision industrial sectors.
CloudNC plans to allocate the new capital towards enhancing its market outreach, technical support infrastructure, and collaborative ventures across various international regions.
AI Quoting to Improve Procurement Turnaround
CloudNC is expanding its software suite with Quote Agent, an AI-powered estimating tool set to launch later in 2026.
Job estimates pose a significant challenge for manufacturing suppliers, with tasks such as evaluating technical drawings and determining part pricing often consuming considerable time. Quote Agent utilizes AI for early-stage cost estimation, allowing suppliers to promptly provide accurate bids while standardizing cost assessments.
With Quote Agent, CloudNC aims to expedite global machining processes through AI integration, complementing the efficiency already achieved with CAM Assist.
CloudNC’s collaboration with Knox Systems is focused on obtaining FedRAMP certification for CAM Assist, ensuring compliance with federal data governance regulations for deployment in US government agencies, defense contractors, and aerospace manufacturers.
The authorization, once granted, will enable public-sector and defense suppliers to implement automated toolpath generation within regulated production workflows.
