After more than two years since its last major event, Microsoft is gearing up to showcase the next chapter of Windows and Surface devices in San Francisco next month. The event, scheduled for October 7th, will delve into the impact of local AI on the evolution of PCs.

Among the key figures expected to be present are Microsoft CEO Satya Nadella and Windows and Surface chief Pavan Davuluri. Additionally, Nvidia CEO Jensen Huang’s appearance hints at a potential focus on RTX Spark PCs. This could also mean more details on the pricing and availability of the Microsoft Surface Laptop Ultra.

Anticipations are high for Microsoft’s emphasis on quality enhancements to Windows and a glimpse into its future direction. While hopes for a surprise reveal of Windows 12 may be dashed, the event promises significant insights into the tech giant’s roadmap.

The last major Windows event held by Microsoft showcased new Arm-based Copilot Plus PCs and a revamped partnership with Qualcomm back in May 2024. Prior to that, in June 2021, the company announced Windows 11 in a live stream.
