The E52 BMW Z8, previously owned by Studie AG’s Bob Suzuki, has undergone extensive modifications by its current owner, Mr. Kohama. Unlike most Z8 owners who preserve their cars as investments, Kohama has transformed his 2001 Z8 into a unique masterpiece over the past ten years. The car now boasts a custom body with flared wheel arches, modified fenders, and a distinctive pearl white finish, setting it apart as a truly exceptional vehicle.

History and Transformation

Originally belonging to Bob Suzuki, the head of Studie AG, the Z8 caught Kohama’s eye more than a decade ago. Since then, it has undergone significant changes, including bodywork enhancements by Studie GmbH, a custom paint job, and added aerodynamic elements like a ducktail trunk spoiler and a bespoke diffuser. The car’s exterior now features HID fog lights, AC Schnitzer Sport mirrors, and meticulously painted headlight internals.

Performance Upgrades

Equipped with a 4.9-liter S62 V8 engine, the Z8 now produces close to 550 hp, thanks to a custom tune, full exhaust system, and Eventuri carbon fiber intake. The suspension has been upgraded for improved handling, complemented by 20-inch BBS LM wheels and Brembo GTR brakes for enhanced stopping power.

Interior Refinements

While maintaining the original red and black color scheme, the Z8’s interior now features carbon fiber trim panels, new pedals, and full bucket seats for a sportier feel. Kohama plans to further customize the interior with a different color scheme, showcasing Studie’s expertise in interior retrimming.
