Friday Night Baseball Madness: iPhone 18 Pro Edition
Today marks the much-anticipated arrival of the iPhone 18 Pro and iPhone 18 Pro Max in the hands of eager customers. Apple wasted no time in showcasing its new flagship smartphones by announcing that the final Friday Night Baseball broadcast of the season will feature over a dozen iPhone 18 Pro devices capturing all the action as the Giants take on the Dodgers at Dodger Stadium.
Apple had previously experimented with the iPhone 17 Pro at Fenway Park last year, strategically placing four devices in unique locations such as inside the Green Monster and the Red Sox dugout. This time, however, they are taking it a step further with fourteen iPhone 18 Pro devices scattered around Dodger Stadium, providing unprecedented perspectives during the game.
iPhone will offer unique perspectives that would be difficult to achieve with traditional broadcast cameras thanks to its small footprint.

Eight of the iPhones will stream live footage over a dedicated T-Mobile Private 5G network for the broadcast, while the rest will provide additional coverage. This private network ensures fast and interference-free streaming.
The iPhone 18 Pro will also replace traditional shoulder rig cameras to capture moments like batting practice and dugout events. In addition, Apple has been using specialized cameras for select Friday Night Baseball games in Immersive Video for the Vision Pro.
Last year’s integration of the iPhone at Fenway Park was a significant moment for both Apple and MLB, leading to the iPhone 17 Pro being honored by the National Baseball Hall of Fame.
The Friday Night Baseball doubleheader will conclude the season, featuring the Phillies against the Mets followed by the Giants versus the Dodgers. Apple TV subscribers can watch the games on various platforms.
