Drastic Cut: Valor Mortis’ System Requirements Reduced Before Launch
Souls-like Game Valor Mortis Lowers PC System Requirements Ahead of Launch
A highly anticipated first-person Souls-like game, Valor Mortis, is set to launch on October 13th. As the release date approaches, the developers have made significant changes to the game’s minimum system requirements, making it more accessible to a wider range of players.
Previously, Valor Mortis had demanding CPU and GPU requirements, including an AMD Ryzen 7 3700X or Intel Core i7-11700 processor and an AMD Radeon RX 6700 or Nvidia GeForce RTX 2070 Super graphics card. However, the latest update has reduced these requirements to an AMD Ryzen 5 3600 or Core i5-10600K processor and an RX 5600 XT or GTX 1660 Ti GPU, offering a more budget-friendly entry point into the game.
While the SSD size requirement has increased slightly from 50GB to 60GB, these changes will make Valor Mortis more accessible to a wider audience. However, it’s worth noting that the developers, One More Level, have not officially announced these reductions, raising some uncertainty about the final system requirements.
During testing with a GTX 1070 instead of the listed minimum GPUs, the game still required upscaling to run smoothly at 1080p/Low settings. The performance hovered around 40-50fps, with occasional stuttering and framerate drops. For a smoother experience, players may need a GPU with a steadier supply of VRAM.
