Revolutionizing Performance: The 2026 Porsche Cayenne Electric
The 2026 Porsche Cayenne Electric is anticipated to make its way to Australia in the first half of the upcoming year, with a starting price of $167,800 before on-road expenses. Additionally, the high-performance 850kW Cayenne Electric Turbo flagship will be priced at $259,900, plus on-road costs.
Porsche’s versatile Cayenne model is transitioning to electric power, with the unveiling of two initial variants: the Cayenne Electric and the higher-performance Cayenne Turbo Electric. These models are expected to be joined by a sleeker Cayenne Coupe Electric and potentially more driver-focused versions in the future.
The fourth-generation ‘E4’ Cayenne Electric is slightly larger than the current petrol-powered luxury SUV, with a length of 4985mm and an increased wheelbase of 128mm. The SUV features a 108kWh lithium-ion battery that provides a driving range of up to 624km (WLTP).
In terms of performance, the base Cayenne Electric model boasts a dual-motor setup with a 300kW output, accelerating from 0-100km/h in 4.8 seconds. The Cayenne Turbo Electric, on the other hand, generates 630kW of power as standard, with an Overboost function that increases output to 850kW and 1500Nm of torque for a 0-100km/h time of just 2.5 seconds.
The Cayenne Electric’s exterior design focuses on aerodynamics without sacrificing Porsche’s signature appeal. The SUV features frameless doors with flush glass, an active roof spoiler, and other aerodynamic elements to enhance efficiency.
Charging the Cayenne Electric is convenient and rapid, thanks to its 800-volt electrical architecture. The SUV can achieve a peak DC fast-charge rate of 400kW, adding up to 323km of range in just 10 minutes. Wireless charging options will also be available.
The interior of the Cayenne Electric is packed with technology, including a curved OLED driver’s instrument display, a central infotainment touchscreen, and wireless smartphone mirroring. Rear-seat passengers enjoy ample headroom and legroom, with electrically adjustable seats and additional amenities.
The Cayenne Electric offers 781 litres of boot space, expandable to 1588L with the rear seats folded down. There is also additional storage space under the bonnet, providing 90L of storage.
The 2026 Porsche Cayenne Electric and Cayenne Turbo Electric are currently open for orders, with Australian deliveries expected to commence in the middle of the following year. For more information on the Porsche Cayenne lineup, visit the Porsche Cayenne showroom.
