Apple releases iOS 17.5 with News+ games, Pride wallpaper, cross-platform tracking detection, more

Apple has officially rolled out iOS 17.5, introducing new features to News+ and cross-platform tracking detection for iPhone users. The latest update also includes Apple’s new Pride wallpaper. Alongside iOS 17.5, users can also access updates for iPadOS 17.5, macOS 14.5 Sonoma, and more.

Apple News

– Offline mode in Apple News+ now allows users to access the Today feed and News+ tab even without an internet connection.
– Quartiles, a new daily word game, is now available in Apple News+.
– The Scoreboard feature in News+ Puzzles provides access to new player data for Crossword, Mini Crossword, and Quartiles, including stats and streaks.

Tracking Notifications

– Cross-Platform Tracking Detection sends notifications to users if a compatible Bluetooth tracker they do not own is moving with them, regardless of the paired operating system.

Developers in the EU now have the option to enable app installation from the web under certain circumstances.
