Nintendo Switch Online service users, especially older Nintendo fans, have a reason to rejoice as classic GameCube games are set to make their way to the Nintendo Switch 2. This expansion pack will kick off with iconic titles such as The Legend of Zelda: Wind Waker, Soul Calibur 2, and F-Zero GX.

What makes this news even more thrilling is that games with multiplayer capabilities will now have online functionality. This means that players can enjoy these timeless classics with friends and other gamers from around the world. Additionally, these games will receive visual enhancements and higher resolutions, making them more visually appealing than ever before.

More titles are expected to join the lineup on the Switch 2 in the future as part of this expansion to the Switch Online service. Some of the anticipated titles include Super Mario Sunshine, Fire Emblem Path of Radiance, Pokemon XD Gale of Darkness, Super Mario Strikers, Chibi Robo, Luigi’s Mansion, and Pokemon Colosseum.

While there is no specific release date for the extended list of games, the initial three titles revealed today (The Legend of Zelda: Wind Waker, Soul Calibur 2, and F-Zero GX) are slated to be available on the console launch date: June 5.

As for the new GameCube controller mentioned in the Direct presentation, it will be accessible to Nintendo Switch Online Members. So, fans who have been competing in Melee tournaments for years will need to sign up to get their hands on the new controller.
