The NFL (American Football) season is back for 2025, offering UK viewers a variety of options for watching and streaming games. With Channel 5 expanding its coverage, viewers can enjoy Sunday games for free, while Sky Sports has increased its NFL offerings with nearly 50% more games.
In addition to these options, viewers can choose from the official NFL Game Pass on DAZN, as well as Amazon Prime Video and YouTube add-ons, depending on their preferences for coverage and devices.
While watching NFL games in the UK is less complicated than in the USA, viewers still need to make decisions on streaming services, each offering different features and prices.
This guide will help you navigate through all the options, whether you prefer watching on TV via Sky or streaming on your phone or tablet with Game Pass.
Special Offer: Get NFL Game Pass for just £34.99 for the remainder of the season – a discount of £90!

Live stream on NFL Game Pass with DAZN
The NFL Game Pass is the official online streaming service for the NFL in the UK, similar to Netflix but for American football. It allows viewers to watch games live or on demand throughout the season on the web or via various devices using the app.
Game Pass is now available on DAZN after moving a couple of seasons ago (no DAZN plan required). DAZN is a global sports streaming service that is only restricted in the USA and China, making it a versatile option for viewers worldwide.
In 2025, Game Pass continues to offer US broadcast coverage for commentary and halftime analysis. The service also includes NFL shows like Hard Knocks and A Football Life, with games available for download and offline viewing.
DAZN is compatible with a range of devices, including Android, iOS, Apple TV, Amazon Fire TV, Google Chromecast, and gaming consoles such as PlayStation 5 and Xbox Series X.
The free plan has been replaced with a Season Pro Ultimate option, a new premium subscription that offers exclusive features:
- Multiview – watch up to 4 games simultaneously
- Stream on 5 devices in 2 locations concurrently
- HDR & Dolby 5.1 Surround Sound for select games
- Alternative feeds, including ManningCast, Prime Vision, and Slimetime
- 20% one-time code for NFL Shop
- Exclusive ballot for international NFL tickets
Viewers can choose to pay for Season Pro and Season Pro Ultimate annually, monthly, or weekly, with the following prices:
- Weekly Pro – £15.99 per week
- Weekly Pro Ultimate – £17.99 per week
- Season Pro – £17.99 per month
- Season Pro Ultimate – £19.99 per month
- Season Pro annual – £169.99
- Season Pro Ultimate annual – £189.99
Regardless of the subscription option chosen, viewers will have access to regular season and postseason games, as well as the Super Bowl, live RedZone coverage, and more:
- NFL Draft rounds 1-7 live
- Previous season highlights and full game replays
- NFL originals and programs including Hard Knocks
What are NFL Blackout games?
One limitation of Game Pass is the presence of broadcasting blackout rules that prevent certain games from being available live. Sky Sports has priority for specific games, so viewers can only watch them on Game Pass 24 hours later.
According to DAZN, this blackout rule applies to two Sunday games each week (one at 6pm and one at 9pm kickoff). However, certain games are exempt from blackout, including:
- All Monday, Thursday, and Sunday night games
- All U.S. Thanksgiving Day games (Thursday 27 November)
- All Playoff games
- Super Bowl LIX
- Any postseason games
Although blackouts are a downside, viewers can use Game Pass abroad without the need for a VPN, as long as they are not in the US or China.
How to watch NFL for free (Channel 5)
For UK NFL fans looking for cost-effective ways to watch games, Channel 5 offers an expanded coverage of the sport. Previously only showing games on Monday nights, Channel 5 now broadcasts NFL games on Sundays as well.
Viewers can enjoy 6pm and 9pm kickoffs on Channel 5, with the later game airing on 5 Action, which is digital-only. Sky Sports retains priority picks for these time slots.
Channel 5’s revamped NFL coverage includes a new show called ‘NFL: Big Game Night,’ featuring teams of friends and family competing in the studio during breaks in play. Prizes include trips to NFL cities, making it an engaging experience for viewers.
Throughout the 2025 season, Channel 5 will also air various NFL events for free:
- International NFL London and Dublin Games
- Thanksgiving Day specials
- Three playoff games
- Super Bowl 2026
Traveling viewers can refer to a guide on watching Channel 5 from abroad if they wish to catch games while overseas.
NFL Game Pass on Amazon Prime Video and YouTube
New for this year is the option to watch Game Pass on Amazon Prime Video (200+ games) or YouTube (250+ games) as an add-on channel subscription.
On YouTube, viewers can access Game Pass for £31.99 per month or £169.99 for the season. However, DAZN app cannot be used with this option.
Game Pass on Amazon Prime Video is available in several countries, including the UK, Germany, France, Australia, Mexico, and Brazil, at a monthly rate of £31.99.
Tip: Opting for the full season option on YouTube provides better value for viewers.

Watch NFL on Sky Sports
Sky Sports remains the primary destination for watching NFL on broadcast TV in the UK. With a dedicated channel on Sky 407 / Virgin Media 507, Sky Sports offers a wide range of games, including coverage on Main Event.
A new three-year deal has expanded Sky Sports’ NFL coverage, providing nearly 50% more games for viewers. Sky has the first pick of games at 6pm and 9pm kickoffs over Channel 5, with additional games available on channels like Sky Sports+ and Mix simultaneously.
Some weeks may feature three games airing concurrently at the 9pm slot. Sky Sports will also broadcast all NFL International games in London and Europe, including Ireland and Spain.
Regular features such as Thursday Night Football, Sunday Night games, Monday Night Football, live NFL RedZone, Thanksgiving games, playoffs, Pro Bowl, Super Bowl, Fantasy Live, NFL Network content, and more are all part of the Sky Sports lineup.

Sky Sports
Sky customers can tune into the NFL channel or alternative channels when games are on to watch them live. Viewers can also use Sky Go to watch games on various devices.
For non-satellite customers, Now (previously Now TV) offers a range of viewing options, including a Now Sports membership (formerly Sky Sports Pass). Day Membership starts at £14.99 for 24 hours, while the Month Membership, cancel any time, costs £34.99 per month.
Viewers seeking Full HD quality and Dolby 5.1 surround sound can opt for Now Boost at £6 per month, which allows streaming on two devices simultaneously. Ultra Boost at £9 per month offers 4K Ultra HD quality, Dolby Atmos sound, and streaming on three devices at once.
Find all Now pass options on the Now website.
Where to watch NFL in the US without cable
While this guide focuses on the UK audience, viewers in the US have various options for watching NFL games without a cable subscription. Games are broadcast on channels like Fox Sports, NBC, CBS, ESPN, ABC, NFL Network, and Amazon Prime Video.
NFL+ is the official streaming service in the US, offering live local and primetime games, including regular season, postseason, and Super Bowl matchups on mobile devices. Premium subscriptions include Red Zone and access to replays.
Subscriptions start at $6.99 per month, with a 7-day free trial available for new users. Other streaming options in the US include SlingTV, YouTube TV, Hulu+ Live TV, and Peacock via NBCUniversal.
For a simpler and cost-effective solution, viewers can use a digital antenna to watch CBS, Fox, NBC, and CBS games for free on Sundays, provided they are near a metropolitan area.
Watch NFL abroad with a VPN
Viewers outside the UK can still enjoy NFL games by using a VPN service to bypass geo-restrictions on services like Sky Go and Channel 5. By masking their IP address with a UK server, viewers can access these services and watch games from anywhere in the world.
A VPN like NordVPN can help viewers appear as though they are browsing from the UK, granting access to Sky’s offerings for NFL games. The same method can be used to access US services, although watching NFL games from the UK may be a more convenient and affordable option.
