Apple Releases iOS 26.2 with Exciting New Features

Apple has officially rolled out iOS 26.2 for iPhone 11 and newer models, introducing a range of new features and improvements. One of the highlights of this update is the ability to customize the Lock Screen opacity level, allowing users to personalize their device even further. Additionally, users can now utilize AirDrop with individuals who are not in their contacts by sharing a one-time code.

In addition to the iOS update, Apple has also released updates for macOS, iPadOS, visionOS, and watchOS. Among the new features, iPhone users will now find an “urgent” option in the Reminders app, which sets an alarm for tasks with due times. Apple Music now supports offline lyrics for downloaded songs and includes a new Favorite Songs playlist within the top Picks section.

One of the most anticipated features is the introduction of live translation on AirPods for users in the EU. This feature was initially delayed due to regulatory concerns but is now available for users to enjoy. Additionally, Apple has introduced Enhanced Safety Alerts in the US, providing users with timely information about potential threats such as floods and natural disasters.

iOS 26.2 also brings updates to the Apple Podcasts app, including automatic chapter generation for English podcasts and timed links that appear during episodes. VisionOS 26.2 introduces Travel Mode support for cars and buses, hand-drawn content compatibility with devices like Logitech Music, and table support in Freeform for managing virtual reality spreadsheets.
