Google Shuts Down Dark Web Monitoring Service, Leaving Users Vulnerable to Data Breaches
Important Update: Discontinuation of Dark Web Report
We have made the decision to discontinue our dark web report, a service aimed at scanning the dark web for any traces of your personal information. This monitoring will cease on January 15, 2026, and all data will be inaccessible from February 16, 2026. Feedback from users indicated that while the report provided general information, it lacked actionable steps for protection. As a result, we are shifting our focus towards tools that offer clearer and more effective measures to safeguard your online information.
Effective February 16, 2026, the dark web report will no longer be available, and all associated data will be permanently deleted. If you wish to terminate your monitoring profile earlier, instructions can be found here.
In the interim, we recommend utilizing our existing tools to enhance your online security and privacy. These include Security and Privacy Checkups, Passkey, 2-Step Verification, Google Password Manager, and Password Checkup. Additionally, we suggest utilizing Results about you to identify and request the removal of personal information from Google Search results, such as phone numbers and addresses. Rest assured, we will continue to provide valuable tips and tools to assist you in maintaining online safety.
Thank you for your understanding and continued support.
