A must-play JRPG is back on the Nintendo Switch after a short leave of absence

A New JRPG, Triangle Strategy, Returns to the Nintendo Switch e-Shop

Exciting news for JRPG fans! A highly acclaimed JRPG has made its way back to the Nintendo Switch e-shop after a brief absence. This means that you, sitting at home with some post-Christmas funds, can now purchase and enjoy this fantastic game during the gloomy month of January.

That game is none other than Triangle Strategy! Developed by Square Enix, this visually stunning and engaging RPG is available for approximately $60/50. Originally released in March 2022 exclusively for the Nintendo Switch, it later became accessible on other platforms after the exclusivity period ended.

Curious as to why the game disappeared from the store initially? While no official reason was provided, it is likely due to a change in the publisher listed on the store. Initially, Nintendo was the publisher, responsible for international publishing outside of Japan during the exclusivity period.

Now that the game is available on other platforms, it is safe to assume that any contractual obligations for Nintendo to handle the overseas publishing of Triangle Strategy have ended, leading Square Enix to take over. Consequently, the store listing needed to be temporarily removed during this transition. This scenario is not uncommon, as seen with other Square Enix titles like Octopath Traveler. The relatively short absence of Triangle Strategy from the store further supports this hypothesis.

For those unfamiliar with Triangle Strategy, it is a captivating game that is definitely worth your attention. While it may start off slowly, its combat and decision-making systems are incredibly engaging, setting it apart from other RPGs in the market. Moreover, its stunning visuals are a sight to behold, making it a game worth experiencing solely for its aesthetics.
