Microsoft has officially unveiled its latest innovation in the gaming world – Xbox Mythic Achievements. These groundbreaking achievements are now available for testing by Xbox Insiders, offering a new level of gaming experience. Similar to Sony’s PlayStation Platinum trophies, Mythic Achievements are earned upon completion of all original achievements for a game.

According to the Xbox team, Mythic Achievements have already been retroactively added to eligible games, including titles from the Xbox 360 era. Players may be pleasantly surprised to find that some of their favorite games have already achieved Mythic status when they next visit their profiles.

In the near future, Xbox profiles will feature a new gaming tab dedicated to tracking Gamerscore milestones and Mythic Achievements. Additionally, the main Achievements list is undergoing an update to enhance the tracking of Mythic status. The introduction of a progress bar at the top of each game’s achievement list will indicate the player’s proximity to Mythic status, along with the option to focus on the remaining original achievements needed.

The excitement around Mythic Achievements was sparked last week when they were leaked through an Xbox PC app, complete with a distinctive unlock sound. It’s remarkable to see Mythic Achievements entering testing just weeks after Xbox CEO Asha Sharma hinted at the introduction of a platinum trophy equivalent later this year.
