AscendTech: The Future of Floor Cleaning with Roborock’s Saros Rover at CES
Roborock is showcasing a groundbreaking device at CES 2026.
Periodically, the robot vacuum industry is shaken by the prospect of a model capable of climbing stairs. Last summer at IFA, Eufy introduced the MarsWalker, Dreame unveiled the CyberX, and Mova displayed the Zeus 60, all offering stair-climbing capabilities for their robots.

All these designs acted as climbing exoskeletons that existing robots could enter and be carried up a staircase.

However, at CES 2026, Roborock is demonstrating a robot vacuum capable of independently climbing stairs.
It boasts a truly unique design, with Roborock claiming it has the world’s first two-wheel-leg architecture in a robovac. The Saros Rover features a squared-off body standing on two jointed legs, each ending with a wheel.

The legs of the Saros Rover can lift and lower independently, allowing the robot to stop, turn quickly, and even perform small jumps while maintaining its balance. This design provides unparalleled agility and mobility.
Roborock utilizes AI algorithms, motion sensors, and 3D spatial information to navigate its surroundings.
One distinguishing feature of the Saros Rover is its ability to clean while ascending stairs, unlike most competitors that solely focus on reaching the next floor without cleaning. The Saros can navigate and clean straight, curved, and carpeted staircases, as well as slopes and rooms with multi-level thresholds.
Although currently a concept model with no release date announced, the Saros Rover promises innovation in the robot vacuum market. Similarly, the Eufy Marswalker and Dreame CyberX showcased at IFA are expected to be released in early 2026, offering stair-climbing capabilities for designated robot vacuums from their respective brands.
